Optimum Platinum Hydrowhey Taste & Mixability

I personally received a free sample of Optimum Platinum Hydrowhey in Velocity Vanilla from Bodybuidling with one of my placed orders. This protein can be easily mixed with water, juice or milk. I chose to mix my sample with milk and it mixed very well and tasted like a milkshake.

The flavors available include Turbo Chocolate, Supercharged Strawberry (new!) and Velocity Vanilla. Optimum Platinum Hydrowhey first started with the chocolate and vanilla flavors and have since added the strawberry.

Being that it's still fairly new, I'm thinking there will be more new flavors added int the future. The Velocity Vanilla is very similar in taste to Optimum Nutrition Whey Protein’s Vanilla Ice Cream flavor. It does have a bit of an after taste, but I have found that most protein drinks do and it isn’t bad at all. I haven't tried the chocolate or strawberry flavors, but the vanilla didn't have any protein-ish taste for me at all and no after taste either.

Optimum Nutrition suggests that users take in 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. The intake should be spread evenly throughout the day and should also include the protein that comes from food. It isn’t required that you get all of your protein from a whey protein supplement, make sure the amount of protein grams consumed includes supplements and food.

The absolute best time to take Optimum Platinum Hydrowhey is immediately following a workout when the muscles need whey protein most. It can also be taken at other times of the day but it's best to take a slow digesting protein like casein prior to bedtime.
